چکیده

The present manuscript describes the theoretical understanding of nanoporous alumina based fiber optic sensing structures. Cavity Maxwell Garnett theory is used to calculate dielectric functions proposed layer. performance structure evaluated in terms its sensitivity towards change refractive index nearby medium. sharpness resonance has also been calculated as an estimation parameters. It observed that approximately 13 times more sensitive than conventional sensors. study further extended by replacing nanolayer aluminum with gold. A comparative provided efficiency probe. effects pore radius, thickness adsorbed medium and shell radius have studied.

Performance Evaluation of a Bilayer SPR-Based Fiber Optic RI Sensor With TiO2 Using FDTD Solutions

We proposed a new bilayer surface plasmon resonance-based fiber-optic refractive index sensor with silver and an over-layer of TiO2. We numerically investigated the optimal thickness of TiO2 over-layer in the proposed sensor and compared its performance to that based on typical bimetallic layers of silver-and-gold in the aqueous media using finite-difference time domain approach. We show that t...

Theoretical understanding of an alternating dielectric multilayer-based fiber optic SPR sensor and its application to gas sensing

In the present work, a detailed theoretical analysis of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR)-based fiber optic sensor with an alternating dielectric multilayer system is carried out. The dielectric system consists of silica and titanium oxide layers. The effect of critical design parameters on the sensor’s sensitivity and detection accuracy is studied. The results are explained in terms of appropr...

A fiber optic sensor for measuring glucose in aqueous solutions

In this paper, the set-up of a multi-mode fiber optic sensor for measuring glucose in aqueous solutions is investigated and evaluated. The basis of this sensor is based on the Fresnel Reflection. In this setup, a helium-neon laser is used as a light source, a fiber optic probe, photocell as detector and a digital multimeter. The statistical analysis of the recorded data shows a highly linear be...

Research on Fiber Optic Sensor based on Fuzzy Control Theory

Fiber optic sensors can be used to monitor deformation and/or the overall integrity of structure components. In this paper, we propose a fuzzy control theory based control principle for sensors, and design a new kind of fiber optic sensor used for Geological monitoring. In order to validate the efficiency of the designed sensor, we simulate a water inrush model in a coal mine, and observe the w...
